- The general simplicity of the design and how easily it can be utilized by the user. Usability will often incorporate findability as well, which is how easily the user can search for and find information.

- This will often be a part of web design, though not always. It is a matter of simply optimizing a website for an attempt to get a high listing on search engines such as Google.

Web design is the most important part of running a website, as it makes up the entire experience that the user has with the website. Whether they love it or hate it is almost completely up to the quality of the design.

Unpopular websites are usually characterized by bad design. It may be too difficult to navigate the website, or the colour scheme might be unpleasant to look at. It could be that the information is too hard to find. All of these are factors when the user decides whether or not they want to spend time perusing a site.

It's therefore incredibly important for a site that intends to attract visitors to have a professional and high quality design. First impressions are the vital key to getting viewers to stay on the site for more than a few seconds.
